About

London Data Studio is a data science blog with a focus on Greater London and the Borough of Westminster. I strongly believe that both data and analysis, when at all possible, should be open source and reproducible. Which is why along with a Gallery section of data visualisations there is a Blog section detailing all analysis and a Data section explaining all data sources used on the website.

The design of this website is heavily influenced by the Trafford Data Lab and its goal of affecting policy using data visualisation and analysis as well as its principles of clarity, openess and reproducibility. London Data Studio, by contrast, is principally interested in Westminster and Greater London.

Most of the tools used on this website are all opensource and free to use. They inlcude, but are not limited to, R and its numerous packages, Python, leaflet.js and D3.js. The website itself is built using vue.js and deployed using Netlify.
